JBSS - One Sheet

Hi There! I’m Michelle “Shelly” Anderson, Creator of The Jelly Belly Schmelly Show and Cocoa’s dog mom.
After working in the corporate world and the wine promotions industry for several years, I was done. I was tired and wanted to really enjoy what I did and wanted to make a difference in the world.

I loved children and wanted to work with kids, because they the most important people on the planet! And my favorite kind of people. 🙂

In December 2010, I picked up a bag of balloons and a pumper and taught myself how to make 20 different balloons. I booked my first party and restaurant as a balloon artist in January 2011 and the rest is history. I found my new “calling”.

Since then, I have become a saught after balloon artist in the Houston area, but not because of the balloons I make, there are many artists who make better balloons than I do, but because of my love of children and connecting to who they are and their hearts. I love making them smile and I believe I am changing the world one smile at a time.

My inspiration why I do what I do and why I LOVE it. The simple answer is, my children…and really, all children. I’m the mother of 3 boys…two boys growing up here on earth with my husband and myself, and our youngest son growing up in heaven. My boys make me smile every day and I am grateful for so much. Children are the delight of the world and “the soul is healed by being with children” – Fyodor Dostoevsky

“Aha-moment” of The Jelly Belly Schmelly Show: One day while I was making balloons at a party, there was a sweet little boy, about 21 months old, who just fixated on me making a balloon. He was glued to what I was doing and “that was the moment” in January 2016. I have mesmerized kids often when I make a balloon, but it finally hit me in that moment, what if I could make a YouTube show out of making a balloon while the kids watched, giving them clues and they have to guess what what I’m making, along with including colors, numbers, letters and counting so it might be fun and a little educational. If I did what I do in person, and bring it to video, I could reach more kids, and make more smiles…thus changing the world one smile at a time. 🙂
